- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, Cardiac STABLE
- Level of NICU: Level 2B - 32 weeks and greater

- 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a
- Customized unit/department-specific orientation, typically 2-3
shifts
- Job Requirements
- Must have delivery room high risk resuscitation experience
- IV start and lab draw experience
- Travelers required to float to like units within the valley
(Nampa NICU and Boise NICU) to take a like assignment
- Schedule Information
- 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a
- Per hospital policy, staff cannot work more than five shifts in
a row
- Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs
- Holiday Requirement: Based on unit needs

- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Premature ---32 weeks, late
preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, requiring oxygen (NC, Hi Flow NC,
CPAP), NOWS/NAS, feeding difficulties
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: May initiate, short term
management prior to transport to higher level of care
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Dopamine,
Epinephrine
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: House supervisor on
24/7. Charge RN each shift, usually has an assignment and covers
high risk deliveries
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: CNA for
floor (L&D/PP/NICU) 4-5 days and nights/week
- RT Equipment: CPAP used routinely; vents available for
emergencies
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: Blue scrubs provided on
unit
- How many shifts of unit/department-specific orientation:
Customized based on each traveler, typically 2-3 shifts
- Additional Details
- BLS, NRP, Stable required
- Cardiac STABLE also required
- Neonatologist in house 24/7
- Neonatal NP 24/7
