• Employment Type: Travel Job Title : Mother-Baby Registered Nurse (Mother-Baby RN)**\n Job Summary :\n A Mother-Baby Registered Nurse (Mother-Baby RN) provides specialized care to postpartum mothers and their newborns, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home. The Mother-Baby RN focuses on the physical, emotional, and educational needs of both the mother and newborn, fostering bonding, supporting breastfeeding, and ensuring the health and well-being of both. \n\n Key Responsibilities :\n

  • Assess and provide postpartum care for mothers, focusing on physical healing, emotional support, and education. \n
  • Monitor and care for newborns, ensuring proper feeding, growth, and developmental milestones. \n
  • Provide education to mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and parenting techniques. \n
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management, wound care, and lactation support. \n
  • Monitor maternal and newborn vital signs, identifying and managing any postpartum complications such as infections, bleeding, or breastfeeding issues. \n
  • Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, helping with latch techniques, and addressing concerns related to lactation. \n
  • Assist with newborn care, including bathing, feeding, and recognizing signs of illness or distress. \n
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care for both mother and baby. \n
  • Promote bonding between mother and baby, offering guidance on skin-to-skin contact and parenting strategies. \n
  • Provide emotional support to new mothers, helping them navigate the emotional challenges of postpartum life. \n
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, assessments, and progress according to hospital standards. \n \n\n Qualifications :\n

    • Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. \n
    • Licensure :\n

      • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. \n \n \n
      • Certification :\n

        • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. \n
        • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred. \n
        • Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) preferred. \n \n \n
