Rising Sun Animal Hospital, a locally owned veterinary hospital, is hiring for a veterinary technician. Rising Sun Animal Hospital wants to provide clients in Nampa and neighboring cities with the highest level of veterinary services and personalized care for their small animals and exotic pets. Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment Ability to handle stressful and emotional situations with extreme professionalism Excellent communication skills Ability to relay important information from veterinarian to client in a knowledgeable and professional manner Common sense problem solving Team-oriented with a positive attitude Ability to adapt and learn new veterinary protocols or techniques for multiple species Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: obtaining a history and recording medical record entries in a SOAP format in a digital PMS, venipuncture/IVC placement, lab analysis (fecal, UA, basic cytology), using in-house lab equipment, taking radiographs, administering medications PO/SQ/IM/IV, anesthetic monitoring, stocking supplies, discharge patients from the hospital, collect payment from owners, perform dental radiographs and cleaning teeth, perform blood pressure, EKG, and phlebotomy in the presence of the owner.
